According to the proprietors of the Pink Elephant, "My family and I re-opened the Pink Elephant gas station and store in May, and really love visiting with people. The elephant has been in our town for about 50 years and has always been a part of our lives. It was my husband's 1st job pumping gas way back when; he grew up just a mile down the road.

"The station is a Citgo and has had many names throughout the years. We named the station Andy's Pink Elephant in memory of our infant son, who passed away in 1991 with a heart defect. It is his elephant. We have started a Wall of Fame and are hoping visitors will send in new and old photos of the elephant to put up on the stations walls. People enjoy looking at them and reading the Wall of Fame."
