"Aeroporto Internacional Dr. Francisco de Sá Carneiro, also known as Aeroporto de Pedras Rubras, or simply Porto Airport is the international airport of Greater Porto, Portugal. It is located approximately six miles northwest of Porto city centre, in the municipalities of Maia, Matosinhos and Vila do Conde and is run by ANA Aeroportos de Portugal. The airport is currently the third busiest in the country based on airplane operations and the third busiest in passengers, based on Aeroportos de Portugal traffic statistics, after Lisbon Portela Airport and Faro Airport the larger and leading airports of the country.

"It is named after a Portuguese Politician, Francisco de Sá Carneiro, who was killed in an airplane crash as he was heading to this airport. It was previously known as Aeroporto de Pedras Rubras."
